Luis "Sito" Negron, Deputy Director of Communications

Luis “Sito” Negron joined Every Texan as Deputy Director of Communications in September, 2026. He has experience as a news media reporter and editor, and communications and policy staffer at the state and local level. As staff for former state Sen. Jose Rodriguez, he worked on legislation and messaging on a variety of issues, particularly education, healthcare, immigration, and budget. As staff for El Paso County Commissioner David Stout, he worked on county budget, planning, food security and health and environment among other issue areas. Prior to his work as staff for elected officials Sito was a reporter, writer, and editor in a variety of media, from print (daily newspapers, weeklies, and other periodicals) to broadcast (television news) to electronic, primarily in El Paso and Las Vegas, Nev. He is especially fond of his work in electronic media, where he was among the first in the state to pioneer independent local journalism delivered through the Internet. He considers both careers – journalism and policy – to be based on the same principles of fidelity to facts. He is proud to join Every Texan and support the organization’s mission to use facts and storytelling to promote smart, hopeful public policy that helps every Texan.
