As Every Texan bids a fond farewell to our visionary CEO, Marisa Bono, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Michelle Smith will join our team as interim CEO of Every Texan.
From 2018 to 2024, Dr. Smith was a valued leader at Raise Your Hand Texas, a statewide advocacy organization focused on improving public education for over 5 million Texas students. She has overseen policy development, legislative engagement, and advocacy efforts including bill passage, increased investment in high-quality pre-K programs, the passage of the state’s aspiring teacher scholarship framework and the creation of Raise Your Hand Texas’ statewide advocacy program.
