Every Texan receives $30,000 grant from Albertsons, Tom Thumb and Randalls’ Foundation Nourishing Neighbors

Every Texan is pleased to be the recipient of a generous grant as part of Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Program.

The grant is made possible by Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls Foundation Nourishing Neighbors and Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls’s generous customers and is meant to help support Every Texan’s efforts to connect qualified families and individuals with federal nutrition programs and free or reduced school nutrition programs.

This grant will be used to reduce hunger in Texas by providing the expertise, advocacy and outreach needed to protect and expand access to federal nutrition programs in Texas including free school meals, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants (WIC).

Hunger relief organizations continue to be overloaded by increased hunger issues. Unfortunately, many people facing food insecurity are often not aware of existing federal nutrition programs they qualify for that could provide them with food.

Through the Nourishing Neighbors initiative, Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls Foundation continues to focus on addressing hunger issues in the communities they serve. The Federal Meals program is part of Nourishing Neighbors’ latest efforts to ensure those who live in the communities Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls serves have enough food to eat.

We’re grateful to Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls and their generous customers for helping fight hunger in our community,” said Every Texan Senior Policy Analyst Rachel Cooper. “These funds will help connect qualifying individuals and families with federal programs designed to relieve hunger issues in our community.”

Thanks to Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Randalls Foundation Nourishing Neighbors for partnering with us to help feed our community!
